Tuesday Teaser #32

A simple game for this week’s teaser. Three different numbers are chosen at random, and each is written on a slip of paper. The slips are then placed face down on the table. Your objective is to choose the slip upon which the largest number is written.

In order to achieve this goal, you can turn over any slip of paper and look at the amount written on it. If you think this might be the largest, you can keep it. Otherwise you can discard it and turn over a second slip.

Again, if you think this might be the largest, you can keep that one. Otherwise you discard that one too and end up with the remaining slip.

What is the best way to play this game, such that your odds of picking the largest number are maximized?
